See information, below the info about Doug, for info about Sandy's next DCM!

Hello Everyone,

Most of you know Doug Carroll. He is a past-President of three Kiwanis clubs . He is the Division 24 past-Lt. Governor for 2005-2006 and has also served on the Governor’s Cabinet as the Accessibility Chairman. He is an outstanding Kiwanian and has been a tireless advocate for those less fortunate than him, both physically and financially, despite having MS and being in a wheelchair.

Recently, Doug’s MS has worsened and he is currently resting in the Bayside Care Center in Morro Bay . Doug has been told he will need to be there another month and unfortunately the costs are not covered by Doug’s insurance. Also, when he gets out he will be in need of a new wheelchair.

Dave Congalton of KVEC radio is spearheading a dinner fundraiser for Doug which will take place on Sunday, August 22nd at McPhee’s Grill in Templeton. There is one dinner seating only at 5 PM which will include a five-course dinner and wine for $50 per ticket. The restaurant can seat up to 70 people in the back room and that is the number of tickets that we would like to sell. 25 tickets have been sold so far so there are approximately 45 tickets left.

Please help support Doug by coming out to McPhee’s Grill and enjoying a wonderful dinner on Doug’s behalf. There will be a raffle drawing and other activities as well. The contact for ticket purchases is Dave Congalton at dcongalton@charter.net .

Thank you in advance for your support,

Brent Wingett
